Assoc Prof Ariya Aruninta, PhD is a faculty staff at the Dept of Landscape Architecture, Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University.

She started her career in 1986 as a project landscape architect for Suan Luang Rama IX Park foundation, the after her graduation from University of Colorado at Denver she came back to  join Public Works Department, Thailand as a landscape architect. During the economic bloom, she was transferred to a lecturer position at Department of Landscape Architecture, Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University and became an assistant professor in 2000, and then having been promoted to be an associate professor later in the end of 2006.

She is also an ex administrative committee of Chulalongkorn University, Social Research Institute – CUSRI. Her research interests are urban landscape and urban management.

In 2007, Aruninta has been appointed by the Prime Minister of Thailand to be one of the five honorable board members of Thailand’s Council of Architects (2007-2009) and has represented Thailand as IFLA (International Federation of Landscape Architects) delegate .

She also was supported as a visiting scholar under several international fellowship programs included Fulbright, JICA, Science-Po, and the Royal Dutch Government – NFP.

Dr. Ariya Aruninta was the Chair of 2011 IFLA Asia Pacific Regional Congress : an international congress in Landscape Architecture and represented TALA - Thai Association of Landscape Architects during Jan 17-21, 2011, in Bangkok, Thailand.
